“A feast is made for laughter and wine maketh merry: but money answereth all things”. Ecc. 10:19
A complete and total knowledge of the word of God make you a balance heavenly bound Christian and an earthly progressive useful and joyful believer. You must understand that the word of God also teaches on money and it is necessary to fulfil our purpose on earth. Therefore, follow this sumptuous dish on money so as to enjoy your living on earth.
The topic subdivides into four sub-headings which further sub-divides into concrete small elements.
In order to possess/have money these steps are indispensable: (1) Possess the GOD of money (2) Possess the TOOLS of money (3) Possess the KEYS of money (4) Possess the POWER over money.
Let us look at each of the sub-topics in details.
God said in 1 Sam 2:6-8 “… I make people rich …” You want to have money without sorrow, possess God now.
On the final analysis please be prudent. Prudence culture is wise spending and economical. Manage your money wisely or else poverty will become your manager. Please live within your income and don’t live the life of borrowing always.
There are five keys that will give you power over money so that you will not end in hell because of money: (1) Don’t be highminded (2) Don’t trust in money (3) Don’t forsake God (4) Don’t be hasty to have more money (5) Don’t loose focus of heaven (read your Bible, pray always, join brethren in fellowship, seek counsel from your pastor). You will see all these in 1 Tim 6:17-19.
In conclusion, the first sub-topic is your decision – Possess God of money, the second sub-topic is your Diligence – Possess the tools of money, the third sub-topic is your Determination – Possess the keys of money and the fourth sub-topic is your Dominion – Possess the power over money.
Money is good we need it but then we must follow right steps to make money and sustain the money and use the money until you become a blessing unto nations. That is the plan of God for blessing you. “And you shall be a blessing unto nations” Gen. 12:2-3.
“And by thy sword shall thou live, and shalt serve thy brothers; and it shall come to pass when thou shall have DOMINION, that thou shalt break his yoke from off thy neck” Gen 27:49 (KJV)
Dominion is the power in humanity today which has lead to inevitable indiscriminate downtrend and total collapse of excellence.
Dominion was given to man as a natural gift and blessing from God Almighty in the beginning: “And God blessed them, and God said unto them (man and woman) be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth”. Gen. 1:28.
We lost the dominion in the garden of Eden after the sin of disobedience but the goodnews is that we gained the dominion back through Jesus Christ. The Essence of this message is to show us how to regain the lost dominion.
We shall discuss this topic under four sub-topics:
1. The meaning of dominion.
A good understanding of what a thing is usually leads to great appreciation and possession of such a thing.
Dominion means ruling power, authority, control, ruling control, ability to be in charge, rulership.
2. The areas we need to exercise dominion.
a. We need to exercise dominion over SELF (flesh & will). Apostle Paul equivocally declared in the Bible; “But I keep under my body and bring into subjection; lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway”. 1 Cor. 9:27 (KJV). We must exercise dominion first of all over our body (members of our body) and our will. Failure to control our flesh and will lead to irreplaceable loss and shame. Great men like Samson, Moses, Reuben and Esau failed to control themselves and they lose great things: Samson lost anointing and kingdom, Moses lost land of Canaan after 80 years of labour, Esau lost his birth right, likewise Reuben.
Things that put to test our dominion over our flesh and will are many but I will mention few: , sex, food, anger, lies, beer, pleasure, cigarettes, indian hemp, music, friends and other ungodly enticement. Once, anyone submits to any of these he/she will suffer irreplaceable loss and shame.
b. we need to exercise dominion over SIN (ungodliness). Sin is Satan In Nature (sin). This means those things which are against the will of God. 1 John 3:4 defines sin as “Whosoever committed sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law”.
Let us look at a few sins according to 1 Cor 6:9-10, “Know ye not that unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God”. You can exercise dominion over all these sins because they usually come as a suggestion in our mind. We can say no and refuse to ponder over them, reason with the enemy and attack them back by resisting speaking the word of God and praying against such always.
Sin is a great destroyer, he destroyed king Saul and Judas Iscariot and they lost the kingdom on earth and in heaven. I pray, you will not lose your God given kingdom and inheritance in Jesus name.
c. We need to exercise dominion over SATAN. The word of God command us thus: “submit yourself therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you” The word RESIST means we should exercise dominion, put up a fierce refusal, it is in you, you can do it.
These two people refused the devil:
As a result of their refusal, they become achievers of their purposes in life
In the time past you might have failed to achieve your expectations, this year your expectations would be achieved in the name of Jesus. It is amazing that everybody has an expectation but only few usually achieve their expectations.
Expectations are visions, goals, desires and end result of a thing. It is very important to understand that there are guiding principles to achieve expectations. Therefore, follow the following wise counsel to bring your expectation to actualization.
Step 1: Define your expectations. What are your expectations? Put your expectations into concrete items: itemize them on a paper. Put your expectations in order of importance. “And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry” (Hab, 2:2-3 KJV).
Step 2: Divide your expectations. Put your expectations into specific time frame. A goal without a deadline is a dead goal. Time frame could be, what i want to achieve within 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, 1 year, 2 years etc. Having done this, you need to take the next step. “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven” (Ecc. 3:1 KJV).
Step 3: Discuss your expectations with your counsellor. You need a counsellor in life. Seek your consellor’s candid counsel on your expectations. “Remember, without counsel purposes are disappointed; but in the multitude of counsellors they are established” (Prov. 15:22).
If you don’t have a counsellor, seek one today, please avoid the errors of Rehoboam and Am on, both sort counsel from their friends and mates and they committed devilish act. You need an elderly holy wise man as a counsellor.
Step 4: Dedicate your expectations to God. This is possible by three ways; pray unto God concerning your expectations. Secondly, search the word of God concerning that expectations which can be a revelation, instruction through the Bible and direction through His servants. Remember his word; “Delight thyself also in the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass” (Ps, 37:4-5).
Step 5: Diligently pursue your expectations after prayers is practical pursuit of what you desire. You have to diligently pursue your expectations. Diligence is the cord linking you and your expectations. You must be ready to righteously pay the diligent price to actualize your purpose this year. The wisest Solomon said ” The soul of the sluggard desireth and had nothing but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat” (Prov. 13:4). Work hard and put away these four elements: excuses, laziness, procrastination and compromise, then you will achieve your expectations.
Step 6: Declare your expectations. Have positive declaration your expectations. Say to your self, speak your expectations into existence but be careful before whom you declare your expectations because there are murderers of expectations and helpers of expectations, therefore be wise.
Jesus said “Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast your pearls before swine lest they trample them under their feet and turn again and rend you” (Matt. 7:6)
Step 7: Day by day check your expectations. If you fail to daily measure how far how close you are to your expectations, you will never know how best to achieve it. It is written; “yet they seek me daily and delight to know my ways…” (Isaiah 28:2).
Conclusion: As you follow these steps God will back you up and you will achieve your desires this year in Jesus name. Don’t forget that word of God concerning your expectations. It shall not be cut off, it shall surely come to pass(Prov. 23:18).
The sure way to getting anything is giving at all times. This is a natural principle irrespective of whom you are, young or old, rich or poor, literate or illiterate, white or black. The amount of what you get is usually bigger than what you give. The testimony of wealthy people confirms this basic sure key of getting.
The quality of what you give is very important to what you will get. If you sow an infected corn/maize, there is no doubt the maize that will come out of such seed will be infected. The quality of what you give determines the quality, quantity and safety of what you will get.
Also, the motive of giving is equal relevant to what you will get, if your motive of giving is wrong, you might be disappointed that you are not rewarded according to your expectations. Therefore, let your motive be that of kindness, generosity and loving. Then your giving will be positive surprise.
Moreover, unto whom you give is important. Like a former, if you sow into a fertile land, your harvest will be bountiful and reverse will be the case if you sow unto a non-fertile land. It is important to be careful when giving. Give to the right people, places, things in the correct measure for unprecedented return and getting.
In addition, your attitude at the point of giving and afterwards will either bring good harvest, lean harvest or nothing at all. Don’t give proudly, boastfully and scornfully for God loveth a cheerful giver.
Giving is getting, if you give your life to playing you know the result already. if you give your time to good ventures working, reading, praying, service to God , you know your reward will be great positive achievement. Giving is an investment.
To every good investment, there is good interest and profit. Before we conclude this talk, let us answer this four questions
(i) Who is the best giver?
The best giver is God. He gave us the best gift. “For God so love the world, that he gave us, his only begotten son, that who so ever believeth in him will not die but have eternal life” (John 3:16). Jesus is the best gift of God to humanity – the only SON.
(2) What did he give us
God gave us eternal life through Jesus Christ. “For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through his son, Jesus Christ” – Rom 6:23. All have sinned and come short of his glory” (Rom 3:23), but God gave us Jesus that we might not go hell and lake of fire but have eternal life in paradise and heaven with Him(God), Don’t choose hell, choose heaven today.
(3) How was the gift given?
The gift(Jesus eternal life) was given to us through his death on the cross. He was sacrificed for our sins, nailed to the cross and died – that is called crucifixion just to bring us to God, His blood was shed on the cross to take
away our sins – those will believe in Him
(4) What are we to give now and always?
God now demands only one thing from us “My son/daughter give me thine heart/soul/life and let thine eyes observe my ways”. Prov. 23:26. Giving is getting, if you want to get eternal life in heaven therefore give your life to God through Jesus Christ today. If you want to get riches and wealthy the hear this “this book of the law(Bible) shall nor depart from my mouth, but thou shall meditate therein day and be careful to do all that is written in it, then you will make your ways prosperous and have good success“(Joshua 1:8).
If you want to get all that is in this earth then do this seek ye first the kingdom of God and all its righteousness(holy living) and all other things (money, riches, children, children, husband, wife, job, success, house, good health e.t.c )
shall be added unto you(Matthew 6:32-33)”
In conclusion, salvation is the gateway to goodly possession to earth and in heaven.
“Everyone who hears theses words of mine and acts upon them (obeying them) will be like a sensible (prudent, practical, wise) man who built his house upon the rock. And rain fell and the floods came and the winds blew and beat against the house; yet it did not fall, because it has been founded on the rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a stupid (foolish) man who built his house upon the sand. And the rain fell and the floods came and the winds blew and beat against the house, and it fell – and great and complete was the fall of it.” ( Matt. 7:24-27 Amp)
The above scriptural quotation was uttered by Jesus Christ the wisest. In this year 2015 give Jesus Christ a chance and space in all your decisions. In these seven areas let Jesus Christ rule and reign and at the end of 2015 let us evaluate and see if it is better than other years or not.
1. Let Jesus occupy your mind – give your life to him and be saved Prov. 23:26.
2. Let Jesus occupy your house – give your house and household to be and be blessed – Luke 19:5.
3. Let Jesus occupy your journey – give him control of your journey in him there is safety – Mark 4:35-42.
4. Let Jesus occupy your time/activities – use your time rightly and give him chance in your activities by attending church services and programmes always – Luke 10:43; Psalm 27:4.
5. Let Jesus occupy your decision – ask him daily for direction and obey his commandment and it shall be well with you. Matt 11:28-29.
6. Let Jesus occupy your life – allow him to be seen in your life, let others see Christ in you by your lifestyle, communication, appearance, association and God will be pleased with you and answer your prayers – Psalm 34:17
7. Let Jesus occupy your ministry and work – proclaim him to others every time, declare his doings and expectation and so you will be a channel of blessing and whatever you do will prosper – Mark 16-20.
In conclusion, if you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them. John 13:17.
There was a certain rich man, who was clothed in purple and fine linen, and feasted sumptuously every day. And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, who was laid at his gate, full of sores and desiring to be fed with what fell from the rich man’s table. Morever the dogs came and licked his sores. And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom. The rich man also died and was buried. And in hell, he lifted up his eyes, being in torment and saw Abraham afar off and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, father Abraham, have mercy on me and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tougue; for I am tormented in this flame. But Abraham said, Son remember that you in your lifetime received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things but now he is comforted and you are tormented. And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed so that they which would pass from here to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from there. Then he said, “I pray you therefore, father that you send him to my father’s house, for I have five brothers, so that he may warn them, least they also come in this place of torment”. Abraham said unto him, “They have Moses and Prophets, let them hear them” And he said, “No father Abraham; but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent” And Abraham said unto him, if they hear not Moses and Prophets, neither will they be persuaded if some one rise from the dead. (Luke 16:19-31)
LESSON FOR THE WISE
The wise are usually ready to learn from the sage and be saved. In this narration by Jesus Christ the only one who came from God, died and rose the third day and liveth forever, we have the following undeniable non-controversial TRUTH.
1. We are born one day and we will die someday.
2. We might be poor or rich, we will die someday.
3. We must be careful how we live, for we will die some day
4. We have a place of Joy and torment after death.
5. We die on this earth to start a new life after death.
Therefore death is an end to a new beginning(life) after death. The question we must ask at this junction is, what are the criteria or qualities for those who will go to the place of Joy. or the place of torment after this life? I have read the religion books and circular books. It is only in the bible I found the answer to the question asked above. Jesus saith unto him, “I am the WAY, the TRUTH and the LIFE no man comes to the FATHER, but by ME” (John 14:6) If Jesus is the Only Way to have joy after this life. Then, we should know how to have Jesus who will take us to God in the place of Joy. These are the steps: Acknowledge your sins and confess them. Repent of your sins and foresake them. By faith say this statement: Jesus I know and I believe you are the Won of God, I confess my sins and I ask you to come into my life, I receive you as my personal Lord and saviour from today. Give me power to sin no more, write my name in the book of life, cancel my name in the book of the death in Jesus Name.
CONCLUSION: if they were wise, they would understand this, they would consider (think) their latter end (Deut: 32:29)
