Galatians 5:13-14

The Bible says “And God saw every thing that He had made. And, behold, it was very good.”- Genesis 1:31.  This means that God created every thing perfect. The word of God is true but it is also a fact that there are so many imperfections in the world today. Why do we have diseases, starvation, insecurity, man’s inhumanity to man, poverty among others which include but not limited to natural disasters? What is God doing to bring solution is another question. The irony is that the solution has long been provided but man is oblivious of it and so he suffers. We are the solutions. Man is the solution that God has provided.

Man needs to understand his relationship with God; he needs to know his position in Him and his purpose without which life will be meaningless, mindless and a mess without focus. Even though God is omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent, yet, He is not arbitrary. As Great as God is, He chooses to work with man as partners. We will examine PARTNERING WITH GOD as our theme in this month of March, the Bible text will be Gen. 2:15. I am sure that many people may see the theme as an overstatement. Yes, I know partners are associates in a common activity; they are coworkers of significant relevance to the achievement of the common objective and each one is a critical factor in the equation of their common goal. Given this definition of partnership, one may innocently ask: how then can man ever be considered a partner with the great God?

The opening verse of the Bible says “in the beginning, God created Heaven and the earth” – Genesis 1:1. So, nothing was created but by God. The question in Job 38:4 suggests that God did it alone. It says “where wast thou when I laid the foundation of the earth?” Yes, I agree, it is true that God created all things – living and non living; it is also true that man was the last to be created on the sixth day. He even created a palace-of-a-garden called Eden before He formed him. But it is undeniable that God so much loves man that He makes him a glorified participant in His creation project.

It is written in Genesis 2:15 “And the Lord put the man in the garden to dress it and to keep it.”  We can deduce from this and the entire story of creation that:

  • Man is the main project of God.
  • Everything was about man and everything was for him – Genesis 1: 26-28;
  • God desires to have rule over man and make man ruler over the rest of the creation.
  • Man named all animals and even Eve his helpmeet
  • God gave man the administration of the garden on condition of simple obedience.

The “health and wellbeing of the garden was the part of man in project of creation. God desires to be the Lord over man and He formed man to be the lord over His creation. The problems in the world are as a result of man’s neglect of his part; and, he is the solution to the problems.

God will not come down from Heaven, not anymore since the days of Adam and Eve when the first family messed up the garden. He will use man to solve man’s problems. The Bible says “for brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but in love, serve one another. For the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; thou shall love thy neighbor as thyself.” – Galatians 5:13-14.

I am sure of these, if everyman will be his brother’s keeper there will not be insecurity; if we can eschew greed and selfishness there is enough provision of food and shelter for all; if we can preach and make all disciples of Christ, the Gospel will heal the land of Boko Haram, kidnapping, arson, murder and all such vices and if everyone will choose to offer his best to humanity, the ruler and the ruled will live in peace and prosperity.

We are the solutions that God has provided for the problems of the world. It is not just beginning now, it has always been so. Noah partnered with God to preserve the seed of human race and of animals during the flood. Moses partnered with God to bring the Israelites out of Egypt; Rahab partnered with God for the fall of Jericho; Prophet Nathan and Bathsheba partnered with God to secure David’s throne for Solomon; Christ Himself appointed us as partners of the great commission –Mathew 28:19; Romans 10:14.

For anything that God will do, He will use the instrumentality of man. How great our families, community, church, Nation and the world would be, if only we will struggle to outdo each other in love and sacrifice? It will be awesome to love others as you love yourself? May those who God has appointed to partner with Him in the fulfillment of our destinies not fail in their duties in Jesus name. Have a Spirit led Month of March.

I am full of gratitude to the almighty God for His love and kindness to us. Particularly, I appreciate Him for the way He led His church through the month of January in the power of His Holy Spirit. The daily prayers were reassuring and refreshing. Testimonies will follow in Jesus name. I thank all the leaders, members, and worshippers for the cooperation enjoyed.

Our theme for the month of February 2017 is “HOLDING GOD TO HIS PROMISES.”  We shall be doing an exposition of 2Corrinthians1:20 which will be the principal text.

In my Sunday School class on Sunday January 8, we considered the Education Ministry of the Church. One of the interesting things about the topic was the “Seven laws of teaching” I remember saying that for there to be effective teaching there must not just be a willing and able teacher but also a pupil who is ready to learn. It takes two to tango.

God is faithful, able and righteous to fulfill His promises. His Word is Yes and Amen. Yet, for every promise, there is a condition. The Bible in Amos 3:3 asks “do two walk together except they be agreed to do so?” We have a role to play in the program of God for our lives. Every agreement is a contract between two parties. If any of the parties fails the contract is null and void.

It was God that brought down the wall of Jericho for the Israelites but He required them to play a part in the process. Moses also had a role in the parting of the Red Sea. In both cases, if they did not obey or had obeyed just in part, the wall would not have fallen and the sea would not have parted although they were the promise of God for them.

When God-given dreams, visions and revelations fail to come to pass, we blame it on destiny. This is far from the truth. Blaming destiny is the excuse of the ignorant believer for failure. The lack of understanding of how God works is rather what aborts the promises and this grieves God. Many of us call down fire in prayer from Heaven; when the fire falls, we neither recognize nor understand it as answer to prayer. We murmur and either run away from it or at best watch the fire burn out without cooking anything with it. We thereby fail in our duty and the promises are locked up.

If David had failed in courage to seize the opportunity of Goliath’s challenge, the promise of Israel’s deliverance from the Philistines would remain a promise in perpetuity. If Israel had refused the change of leadership to Joshua, they would have remained in the wilderness and the Jews in Susha would have faced extinction and total annihilation if they had not risen to pray. We must all play our part in the process of fulfilling God’s promise or it will remain unfulfilled.

To receive is one thing, to hold and enjoy the promise is another; the believer must be steadfast in faith and unfailing in obedience both to receive and hold. He must not lose guard or lose sight of the obligations and duties contingent on the promise. When razor had not touched Samson’s head, being a Nazarite, no enemy could stand him but when he committed the breach, he was thrown out of the program of God and the victor became a victim.

Where is the fulfillment of the promise of God in our lives and Nation today? Are we playing our role and fulfilling our duty? Do we cooperate with God not to scuttle the plan? God is forever faithful; the only problem to receiving from Him is failing to play our role and perform our duty.

Glory and thanks be to the almighty God who made us to survive year 2016. I welcome all of us to the year 2017.  It is our Year of Living as Conquerors; a year in which we will serve God acceptably as captains of faith in Olota/Captain church, to hold Him to His promises. The Scripture says: “For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through Him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God – II Corr. 1:20.  I pray that we will all experience His power, and His glory will radiate in our lives in Jesus name.

The book of Hebrews gives an inspiring proof of the supremacy and Excellency of Jesus Christ and His Gospel above the angels and the law. In verse 8 of chapter 13, we have the evergreen statement of truth of the constancy of Jesus Christ: “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today and forever”

Even though the world system keeps changing, kingdoms are rising and falling, and inventions become obsolete with time; the world order and the works of His hand remain constant. He is the perfect and unchanging creator of all. There is no variableness in Him. The truth of His word, therefore, must take precedence above the facts of the believers’ situations and challenges.

As Jesus is, so are his ways, His will and His word. True believers are exhorted to adhere strictly to His teaching and doctrine and to persevere in faith irrespective of the different situations and circumstances they may encounter in doing so; He that will serve him as expected will have to keep the standard. There is no lowering the standard for any reason. His expectation from faithful believers is the same.

Commands concerning Christian service are found in Hebrews chapter 13. They are the minimum irreducible expectation of the Master from every believer that will be approved of God here and in the hereafter.

Let brotherly love continue: – Heb. 13:1

Forget not to entertain strangers – Heb. 13:2

Remember those in bounds – Heb. 13:3

Remember the suffering

Be without covetousness   – Heb. 13:5

Be content in life

Remember your leaders to obey them  -Heb. 13: 7

The giver of these commands does not change. It is therefore expected that the service that will be acceptable will be that that does not fall below the set standard.

He who would serve God acceptably will emulate the faith, behaviour and activities of the fathers, the generals of faith who spoke the word to us in time past. They were not swayed by challenges, opposition or persecution of any kind. To them, the truth of Christ’s teaching and doctrine was stronger than the facts of what they had to suffer and the realities of what they had to bear {Romans 8:35-39)

Certainly and without doubts, these are hindrances and obstacles on the part of the believer who wants to serve God acceptably. The existence of false teachers and strange doctrines is real. In Hebrew 13: 9, it is written “be not carried away with diverse and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace, not with meats, which have not profited those that have been occupied with them”

The Israelites who trooped out triumphantly from Egypt had a direct experience of God, His wondrous love and His power. However they fell into error in the face of challenges. They could not hold the faith. (1Corrinthians 10:1-5) God was not pleased with them. Their bodies littered the desert. They were expected to remain steadfast in faith

In I Corinthians 10: 11 – 12,  it is written “These things happen to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us on WHOM THE FULFILLMENT OF THE AGES HAS COME. So, if you think you are standing firm be careful that you do not fall.”

We are the generation of believers on whom the fulfillment of age has come, really. Wickedness is on the rise, self serving is on the rise, conflicts in families, communities, nations, even in churches are on the rise; men are lovers of selves, not God, times are hard, faith is waning true to the prophecy of the end time.  All these constitute hindrances on the way of believers to render acceptable service. Nevertheless, the standard expected of believers remain unchanged even under the worst of any of these or all of them combined.

I bring them together under three broad headings viz:

  1.  DISTRACTIONS: Poverty and dearth of necessary supplies; sicknesses; persecution; famine; Hyperactive social economic life e.t.c
  2. DISTORTIONS: False teaching; False doctrines

III. OBSESSIONS: Power and position; Wealth, Food and drinks and the sensual; Materialism.

All these are stumbling blocks in the path of acceptable Christian service. They all constitute darkness however the bible says we are the light of the world, we should overcome the darkness therefore. Believers should keep the nature of God no matter the obstacle.

Serving the Lord as expected will entail the following

  1. Daily Preparation For Christ’s coming – Matthew 25: 1-13
  2. Daily Profiting For Christ – Matthew 25: 14-30

iii. Daily Pursuit of Soul Winning – Matthew 28:19

The Lord Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. He is constant in His way, unchanging in His will and absolute in his word. He that will follow him acceptably must follow his teaching and doctrine to keep the standard of Christian service/living all the time even though he faces opposition and rejection.

The Mystery of the Tongue

And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. – James 3:6,8.

Glory be to God who has given us victory over eleven months we are on the twelfth ladder of the year by human calendar. Surely, we shall finish this year with joy on every side in the name of Jesus. Amen.

The mystery of the tongue is our focus this month. It is very necessary to look at this organ of speech and the potency so that we shall escape the wrath of God in the misuse of tongue. Without the tongue, speech or talking is impossible. Yet, the shape of the tongue is fire like because it works like a consuming fire.

We shall discuss: (A) THE SEVEN PECULIARITIES OF TONGUE as described in James 3:6,8.

  1. TONGUE A FIRE v 6. The tongue is called a fire because of three things namely: the structure, colour and power. The structure is of fire, the colour is fire, the power can consume like fire when used in speech negatively or positively. It has a ravishing power. So it is important not to always use it negatively but use it positively.
  2. TONGUE A WORLD OF INIQUITY. The tongue is a world (kingdom) of iniquity i.e wickedness, gross injustice, rebellion, violation of right or dignity, wicked act, sinfulness. It is not surprising therefore that God put the tongue inside the cage of the teeth as a chain and the lips as a padlock. It is because it is a powerful wicked weapon and full of sin. Psalm 140:3 says, “They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders’ poison is under their lips.” The tongue is full of iniquity, how can we bridle this tongue before it destroys us? To understand a thing is key to control it or overcome it.
  3. TONGUE DEFILLETH THE WHOLE BODY. The tongue thou small defile, make the whole body bad, decay, dirty, unclean, impure. Does it mean we must not talk again or cut it off? No, it means we must use the tongue positively always.
  4. TONGUE SET HUMANITY ON FIRE. The tongue ignite fire to consume all our body. How? When it is used wrongly, sinfully to attract God’s wrath. So, the tongue always set us on fire. God will quench the fire in our lives and others. Amen.
  5. TONGUE AN UNRULY EVIL. The tongue is called disobedient, recalcitrant, stubborn evil. If the tongue is a powerful uncontrollable evil we need the power of God who created it to control and overpower it. We usually use the steering and brake to control the automobiles, then we must use both spiritual and natural to control the tongue.
  6. TONGUE FULL OF DEADLY POISON. Mr & Mrs tongue is full of venom. The poison that takes life from men. It is a serious issue to use then tongue positively in order not to die young.
  7. TONGUE IS SET ON FIRE FROM HELL. In good news Bible read this “It sets on fire the entire course of our existence with the fire that comes to it from hell itself” The final habitation of tongue is hell. What about the wrong users of  tongue?

  1. Speaking proud things – Psalm 12:3
  2. Backbiting about others – Psalm 15:3
  3. Swearing falsely – Psalm 15:14
  4. Speaking guile – Psalm 34:13
  5. Speaking evil – Psalm 34:13
  6. Jesting, flattering/speaking idle words – Psalm 12:3, Matt. 12:36
  7. Speaking lies – Prov 6:19, 19:9. I Time 4:2..

The users of tongue in the above seven evil ways are the ones the tongue will set on fire of hell as described above. If you want to overcome the fire of destruction that is in the tongue, stop using the tongue in the seven ways mentioned above.

  2. Singing praises unto God – Heb 13:15; Ps 71:23; Ps 119:171.
  3. Praying unto God – Job 13:6
  4. Speaking truth about things/people – Job 33:3
  5. Dispersing good knowledge – Prov 15:7
  6. Speaking in tongues (heavenly/ unknown language) – Acts 2
  7. Speaking excellent things – Prov 8:6
  8. Preaching the true gospel of Jesus – Mark 16:15.

The users of tongue in these seven good ways are the ones that will enjoy good fruit of the tongue.

Proverbs 18:21 gave us a good summary of the vil and good of the tongue “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”

  2. Long life – 1Pet 3:10
  3. Safety from troubles – Prov 21:23
  4. Freedom from sin – Psalm 39:1
  5. Answer to prayers – Matt. 7:7-8
  6. Safety from wrath – Prov 15:1
  7. Increase in knowledge – Prov 16:21
  8. Satisfaction – Prov 18:20.

CONCLUSION: The five keys to possess ability to bridle and control your tongues are:

  1. Salvation through Christ which give you dominion over the use of tongue.
  2. Strict discipline over the use of words – ie personal determination to always speak positively about yourself, others and things.
  3. Steadfast control over your anger. You must learn to keep quite when you are angry, no matter the provocation.
  4. Sustained attitude of humility. This will not make you proud or be boastful.
  5. Stick to truthfulness no matter the situation and the price you must pay.

Remember, it is written “if any man among you seem to be religious and brideth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.” James 1:25. Control your tongue before it takes you to hell fire.

The True Mark of a True CHRISTIAN

One of the two which heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother.  He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.  And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone. The day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip, and saith unto him, Follow me. Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter. Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph. And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see.  John 1:40-46.

The only business that was established by Jesus Christ is the SAVE A SOUL MINISTRY (SASOM). God is the Managing Director, Jesus is the General Manager, Holy Spirit is the Personnel Manager, Man is the Labourer.

Jesus said “For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” (Luke 19:10). Any Christian who is not working in the save a soul ministry is a dead Christian and will suffer four things:

  1. Loss of eternity in Heaven (Matt. 5:30)
  2. Loss of blessings on earth (Matt. 5:28)
  3. Loss of God’s favour
  4. Loss of answer to prayer (John 15:16)

It is therefore, A MUST to join this SAVE A SOUL MINISTRY.

We shall discuss this topic under these four subtopics:

  1. THE SAVIOUR DIED TO SAVE YOU AND I. “For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” John 19:10. The only Saviour of humanity is Jesus Christ, he died to save every human being. No other person died for the sake of humanity except Jesus. Jesus said in John 15:13 “greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” It should be known that Jesus was arrested, he endured the torture, the crucifixion, the sword by the side and death because he must save us from sin, satan and consequences of sin in hell, to preserve us blameless and rapturable and finally to be citizens of heaven. All these for you and I. Then we have a responsibility to tell others what we are enjoying except you are not genuinely saved.
  2. THE SAVIOUR DIVINE METHODS TO SAVE YOU AND I. “Ye know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified.” (Matt. 26:2)
  3. The Betrayal by Judas Iscariot. The first thing was the betrayal by his treasurer. Don’t be surprised if your close friends betray you. It has happened to our Saviour. Matt. 26:47-49.
  4. The arrest by a great multitude. Jesus went to pray at the garden of Gethsemane and while he prayed Judas and a great multitude came and he was arrested Matt. 26:54-56.
  5. The Saviour by the Council. Jesus was led to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and elders were assembled. They sought a false witness but found none. But Christ confirmed his mission, as a savior and it was used against him. Matt 26:64-67.
  6. The Saviour before Pilate. He was taken from Caiaphas high priest to Pontius Pilate the governor who did not find anything against him but presented a criminal to then at the feast and the people said Christ should be crucified but Barabbas a criminal should be released. Matt. 27:22-26.
  7. The Saviour in the punishment hall. The soldiers took Jesus into the common hall, striped him, put crown of thorns on his head, spat on him, flogged him with lachet 39 times. Matt. 27:27-31
  8. The Saviour at Golgotha for crucifixion. Jesus was led to Golgothat where he was nailed to the cross, they gave him viniger to drink, pierced his side with sword, blood and water came out, parted his garment and put two criminals on the cross one at his right hand and another at his left hand. Matt 27:32-44.
  9. The Saviour death and burial. Jesus died after some time on the cross. He was taken down from the cross and buried and a great stone was laid on mouth of the sepulcher. Matt. 27:45-61
  10. The Saviour Resurrected on the third day. On the third day, Jesus resurrected and appeared unto many people including the disciples and ascended into heaven and promised to come again to take all believers home. Matt 28:1-6
  11. THE SAVIOUR LAST COMMANDMENT TO SAVE OTHERS. “…Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” Mark 16:15. It is our duty to go and tell other that Jesus is the Saviour and devil is the destroyer. Jesus came to save and to prepare us for heaven and not hell/lake of fire where every sinner and follower of the devil will go. It is written “Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:” Matt. 25:41. Please, we are very close to the time of Jesus second coming, let us tell somebody today about Jesus. If you keep quite you are wicked. Remember, someone told you about Jesus, you too must tell someone now and every time. This is the reason you are living or else you will died the same day you were saved. Remember the story of the Rich man and Lazarus. The rich man died but went to hell, Lazarus died and was found in paradise. The rich man requested that a person be sent to his family to preach to them from heaven, but hear the reply of God through father Abraham to him “… they have Moses, and the prophets, let them hear them” Luke 16:29

You and I are the Moses, prophets of God today. Our assignment is soul winning. We must not delay and fail to tell others everyday. The ways to do it are:

(a) Create time to share your salvation testimony with someone. That is how you were saved. Whom you are before salvation and what you are now. Your blessings as a new creature.

(b) Create time to go for evangelism and soul winning. Use your leisure time, your weekend, your leave period instead of attending party and occasions all the time.

(c) Create time to pray and intercede specifically for souls to be saved, for sinners to turn to Christ and for Jesus to save the unreached. If you cannot go, pray for them. I did that with some brethren while in Yobe state during NYSC and that particular tribe were saved through the salvation of a brother that God saved.

(d) Create a portion of your income for soul winning. Give your money to organize crusade, outreaches, to print tracts, buy materials for the sinners, to sponsor evangelist and missionaries. You will be glad you did.

(e) Create a passion for souls. Translate the passion to action. Read more about soul winning. Do something positive about it now. Remember “And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.” Daniel 12:3.

  1. THE SAVIOUR’S REWARD FOR SOUL WINNER AND SOUL SAVED. And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.  And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.” Matt 19:28-29. Our labour in God is not in vain likewise our salvation is not in vain. We shall have the following rewards (a) Spiritual reward  (b) Earthly reward (c) Heavenly reward.

(a) Spiritual reward – The  12 apostles shall sit as judges over others for their special assignment as special agents of change and soul winners. It is a promise that will never fail. Matt. 19:28

(b) Earthly reward – All Christians shall have physical and material gain for serving God. We are not just called to leave all and follow him but greater gain awaits us while on earth here – the Bible calls it hundred fold reward. Matt 19:29a.

(c) Heavenly reward – Eternal and everlasting life in heaven to all Christians. This is the greatest reward. This is the reason why Christ died, to take us to heaven at last instead of lake of fire or hell prepared for the devil, his angels and all sinners. Matt. 19:29b.

CONCLUSION: The devil is winning more souls by using all these methods – internet, telephones, music, entertainment, football, games, lotto, gambles, fashion, money, sickness, fornication, adultery, lies, deceit, immoralities, it doesn’t matter, lukewarmness, economic recession, materialism, politics, culture, tradition, education, philosophy of men, powers of darkness, workers of darkness, spiritual workers of darkness, dressing, etc. The list is endless. Wake-up before our wives, husbands, children, families, friends will be hooked by the enemy call DEVIL.

Once again, use prayer, preach the word and bring them to Jesus via church and God will be joyful, Jesus said “I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, … there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.” Luke 15:7,10. The true mark of a Christian is soul winning.

Holy Ghost Power & Fire in Holy Vessels

I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance. But he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: (Matt. 3:11)

Introduction: Welcome to a moment of power of God. Our focus is the power of God in the Christian life. Holy Ghost fire is the symbol of God’s power, His presence and manifestation. The Holy Vessels are the Christians who serve as the container, carrier, possessor and habitation of the Holy Spirit. 1Cor 3:16; 6:19; 2Cor 6:16.

The failure of every Christian in life has been traced to the absence of the Holy Spirit because the fullness of all things comes by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Message Outline: (A) The Preparation of Holy Vessels for Holy Ghost Power & fire (B) The process for the Holy Vessels to receive Holy Ghost fire (C) The purpose of the Holy Ghost fire in the Holy Vessels.

  1. THE PREPARATION OF THE HOLY VESSELS FOR HOLY GHOST POWER & FIRE – The waiting, the washing, the weaning.
  2. The Waiting: It is required that after a genuine salvation we should receive Holy Ghost fire. The Holy fire is a necessary power of God ONLY TO HOLY CHRISTIANS. Therefore, be ye Holy. Then we have the WAITING. The Holy Ghost baptism with fire was received at the day of Pentecost after many days (40-50 days) of prayer by the apostles and disciples of Jesus Christ at the upper room. Acts 1:12-14. Hear this from Jesus “And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but TARRY (WAIT) ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.” Luke 24:49. Having heard this the disciples tarried/waited in the upper room praying for the Holy Ghost power to come. In Acts 2:1-4 – they received it on the day of Pentecost.
  3. The Washing – “Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.” (Ps 51:2). “If a man therefore purge himself from these (sins etc), he shall be a vessel unto honour, SANCTIFIED, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.” 2Tim 2:21. The second requirement is washing – which is sanctification. You must cleanse yourself from all sins and immoralities and do away with immoral things in your heart and your habitation. It is called Holy Spirit and it will only dwell in Holy Vessel (Christian). Forgive and don’t keep malice and be pure within and without for this encounter.
  4. The Weaning: Is the withdrawing of a person from self, affections, pleasures and total dependency with great expectation of a living faith to receive from God. At this point the word of God is read, believed and lived. In Acts 10:33 Cornelius said “…Now therefore are we all here present before God, to hear all things that are commanded thee of God.” When they were fed with God’s word by Peter, the Holy Spirit fell on them “while Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word”. Acts 10:33. You must be weaned from food, flesh, pleasure, affections and feed on the word of God and then the Holy Ghost power with fire will come.
  5. THE PROCESS FOR THE HOLY VESSELS TO RECEIVE THE HOLY GHOST POWER & FIRE: God does not have a particular permanent method because He is God. He chooses otherwise but the listed are the recorded process by which the Apostles and Disciples and the present day Christians received the Holy Ghost power and fire.
  6. Concentrated prayers for Holy Ghost power & fire. In Acts 1:12-14; 2:1-4. The Apostles and Disciples concentrated on prayers to receive the Holy Ghost power and fire and it was given to them. We should consciously concentrate our prayers and time to receive the Holy Ghost power and fire.
  7. Concentrated faith (desire) for Holy Ghost power and fire 1Cor 12:31 “But covet earnestly the best gifts…” You must believe, have faith and desire to receive it. The condition of your heart desire determines your result. Prayer work only with faith. Believe you will receive.
  8. Concentrated impartation service for Holy Ghost power and fire. Acts 8:14-17; Num 11:16-17, 25-30 . The Apostles had a service to pray for the Holy Ghost power and fire which lead to laying of hands. I believe some received during prayers and others received by laying of hands. It could be a service for this purpose or in between a prayer service or word of God service, but prayers must be observed for impartation of power & fire of Holy Ghost.

In Numbers 11:16-17, 25-30 “And the Lord said unto Moses, Gather unto me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom thou knowest to be the elders of the people, and officers over them; and bring them unto the tabernacle of the congregation, that they may stand there with thee. 17 And I will come down and talk with thee there: and I will take of the spirit which is upon thee, and will put it upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee, that thou bear it not thyself alone. And the Lord came down in a cloud, and spake unto him, and took of the spirit that was upon him, and gave it unto the seventy elders: and it came to pass, that, when the spirit rested upon them, they prophesied, and did not cease. 26 But there remained two of the men in the camp, the name of the one was Eldad, and the name of the other Medad: and the spirit rested upon them; and they were of them that were written, but went not out unto the tabernacle: and they prophesied in the camp. 27 And there ran a young man, and told Moses, and said, Eldad and Medad do prophesy in the camp. 28 And Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of Moses, one of his young men, answered and said, My lord Moses, forbid them. 29 And Moses said unto him, Enviest thou for my sake? would God that all the Lord’S people were prophets, and that the Lord would put his spirit upon them! 30 And Moses gat him into the camp, he and the elders of Israel.” This is exactly what God did but putting upon others part of the spirit of God in Moses.

  1. THE PURPOSE OF THE HOLY GHOST POWER AND FIRE IN THE HOLY VESSELS. The purpose means the need, the importance of the Holy Ghost power and fire in the life of a Christian. When the purpose of a thing is not known abuse is inevitable. We need the Holy Ghost power and fire for the following reasons:
  2. Power: But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” (Acts 1:8). The power of God is received when the Holy Ghost power and fire comes into the life of a believer. This power is for victory over satan, sin, self, enemies – spiritual and physical and also power to carry out ministerial services in Christendom. This power is for evangelism, soul-winning and witnessing. In Luke 10:19 Christ said “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” This power is the power we are talking about. It is power to evangelise and winning souls. The last part of Acts 1:8 reads “… and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
  3. Purity – This Holy Ghost power and fire sanctifies and brings purity. In Romans 1:4, it is written And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:” The Holy Spirit baptism make the believer holy, pure and acceptable in the presence of the Lord. It is the secret of the holiness and purity life of the believers. Holy Spirit ensures that the vessels are clean by constantly reminding and dwelling in them for Holy communionship with Trinity/Divinity.
  4. Prayer“The Holy Spirit helpeth our infirmities for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.” Rom. 8:26. Brethren, the Holy Spirit also teaches us how to pray, I am a beneficiary of such ministry of the Holy Spirit – He wakes me to pray, he tells me what to pray about and also prays for me.
  5. Revelation – “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” John 14:26. Furthermore, in John 16:13-14 Jesus said, “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.” This Holy Spirit power and fire brings revelation, illumination and inspiration in the life of believers. It is a must for all believers to have this Holy Ghost power and fire to enjoy divine and direct communication from God and to God. Covet this Holy Ghost baptism of power and fire earnestly now. God is always ready to release to those that ask for it.
  6. Rapture – The Holy Ghost power and fire is necessary for rapture that is the last concession of believers either living or dead. In Acts 10:38 “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.” Jesus was declared to have received the Holy Ghost power and fire which the Bible recorded as the spirit of ascension. Hence in Rom. 8:11, it is written “But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.” It is the Holy Ghost power and fire that is called anoint, unction, spirit of God, power of God, Holy Ghost Baptism. As a Christian you need it because you cannot do great exploits without this power.

CONCLUSION: The evidence of this power and fire are as follows: speaking in tongues, prophesying and unction to function. Acts 2:2-4, 17. By faith as you pray, you will receive in Jesus name. Amen.

Congratulations! Praise God!! For seeing another month in the midst of the living. Unto our God be the glory, honour, adoration and thanksgiving now and forever.

The day is far spent, the night draweth near when our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ shall  come and we must be ready knowing fully well that this world is our battle ground and only the conqueror will reign with King Jesus at marriage feast of the Lamb and in Heaven. Hear what Jesus said, “To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.” (Rev 3:21)

The topic of our consideration is Understanding Christian Warfare and Victory Methods. We are engaged daily in warfare and we must conquer daily to make it on earth and make heaven at last. We shall look at this topic under four sub-headings:

(1) The keywords explained

(2) The warfare starting place

(3) The warfare present place

(4) The Christians’ practical weapons for daily victory

  2. THE CHRISTIANS: Ishmael and Isaac were born by the same father – Abraham but Isaac was the covenant child who inherited all that Abraham had. In like manner all human beings are children of God but ONLY THE GENUINELY CONVERTED are the COVENANT CHRISTIANS. Take note, everyone may claim he/she is a Christian. Jesus said; “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.” (Matt. 7:21). In verse 22-23, “Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” We shall not be cast away in Jesus name. Are you a covenant Christian or confessing Christian? We have possessor of Christ and professor of Christ. Which one are you?
  3. THE WARFARE: means armed conflict between two massed enemies, armies or the like. This means weapons are involved, battle for supremacy is involved. The Christian life is faced with a special warfare which is peculiar because of the glory of heaven which is waiting for us. Our arch-enemy – Lucifer is armed and we must be armed too to defeat him. In job 14:1, it is written “Man that is born of a woman is of few days and full of trouble.” We shall overcome. Amen.
  4. The VICTORY METHODS: Many ways and means couple with programme are available to overcome the Christian battles. The book of 2Cor 10:4 said,  “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;” Our victory is guaranteed if we follow God’s given methodology.

“And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven”. (Rev 12:7-8) The other Bible references are Gen 3:15, Gen 1:1-2. The Warfare started in heaven in the kingdom of God. One of the angels by name Lucifer which means Son of the morning star (note: not the morning star), gathered some angels and rebelled against God and God did not spare him and all the rebels (angels), he was faced with angel Michael and other loyal angels and Lucifer with his cohorts were defeated and cast out of heaven. Isaiah captured this very well “How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:  I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.” Isaiah 14:12-15.

Secondly, the warfare continued in Garden of Eden where God put Adam and Eve and the place is being kept away from man since then. In the cool of the day God will usually visit them (Gen 3:8). Moreover, one day the Lucifer who became serpent because of his craftiness deceived Adam and Eve and they ate the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil and God cursed the serpent, Eve and the ground for man. God also pronounced warfare between man the Lucifer. In Gen 3:15 “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” The causes of warfare most times is enmity which is hostility.

The above were the places where the Christian warfare started.

  1. THE WARFARE PRESENT PLACES. The warfare which started in heaven and garden of Eden has been translocated into three spheres now with diverse methodologies and mechanisms. In this study we have concisely precisely identified these three: 1. The human body (in the man) 2. The physical earth (around the man) 3. The spiritual realm (beyond the man). Thus, we classified the warfare as carnal, physical and spiritual warfare.

3.1. The carnal warfare (the human mind and the flesh). The carnal warfare centres on the human mind and the members of the body. In Rom 7:23 it is written “But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.” The bible verse reveals that the human mind and flesh is the battle field in man. The first assignment therefore is to understand the carnal warfare. The carnal warfare is the battle of the mind and flesh. The Devil usually gives ungodly suggestion and communication to our mind through our body organ – the eye, (what we see), the ear (what we hear), the body (what we feel, especially the sensual organs) to feed and corrupt our mind and life. Every covenant Christian must win the carnal battle first without which he/she cannot win other battles.

These three things are first things to be done; genuine confession, total forsaking (sin), genuine conversion ie submission of soul, spirit and body to the lordship of Jesus and our flesh hates discipline and pains but that is one thing you must do. Apostle Paul said “But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.” (1Cor 9:27).

3.2 Physical warfare. This is the use of physical things we can see, feel, touch to torture covenant Christian to submit to the will of flesh, satan and worldly system. Let us read few of these weapons in Romans 8:35 “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?” and 2 Cor 4:11-14. Are you going through any of these, or childlessness, joblessness, failure, insufficiency, don’t give up, it is the physical warfare, you will overcome. All you need do is pray, workhard and see the truly called men of God to join hands with you over that situation, it is a temporary thing, it will soon be over.

3.3 Spiritual Warfare – This is more complex and wide, we don’t have total knowledge of this weird warfare but we rely on God’s word and power to overcome. Apostle Paul described it in Eph 6:12 as “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” In spiritual warfare we have unseen forces and known forces but we cannot handle them physically though we see the physical manifestations, we must rely totally on God. Such warfare includes; bad dreams, sickness, diseases, arrows, covenant, curses, poverty, affliction by agents, spiritual forces of darkness and enemies. The forces include – witches, wizards, ritualist, familiar spirit, herbalist, false prophets etc. What can we do?

  1. THE CHRISTIANS PRACTICAL WEAPONS FOR DAILY VICTORY. Please, apply these Christian weapons for victory daily. They are weapons you must use everyday because A PART TIME CHRISTIAN CANNOT DEFEAT A FULL TIME SATAN and ENEMY. You must become a full time Christian by applying these weapons daily at all times, every second, minute, hour and day.
  2. Word of God – Psalm 107:20 – You must load yourself daily with the WORD OF GOD and shoot the word against the enemy at the point of attack.
  3. Blood of Jesus Rev. 12:11 – You must cover yourself daily with BLOOD OF JESUS and release the blood against the enemy at the point of attack.
  4. All manners of PRAYER: Eph 6:12, Luke 18:1; 1Thes 5:17. You must pray fervently all manners of prayer daily and pray against the enemy before and at the point of attack righteously. You must live a holy life if you want answer to your prayers because God does not answer the prayer of sinners (John 9:31)
  5. Praise and Worship God – 2Chro 20:21-25, Acts 16:25-28. You must cultivate and practice the art and act of praise and worship God unconditionally every time. The enemies will be smitten before you without you fighting them because God dwells in the praise of his people.
  6. Faith in God – 1John 5:4, Heb 11:33, Rev 12:11b. Your faith in God’s word, power and your positive confession of the same is a weapon of conquering the enemies. The devil always uses fear, but have faith in God, he can never fail.
  7. Graceful Determination – Daniel 3:16-18. Shadrack, Meshach and Abednego made a graceful determination at point of persecution and the Lord Himself appeared in the midst of the fire with them. We need graceful personal determination to defeat the enemies always, determination not to compromise and God will see that and fight for you.
  8. Spiritual Empowerment: Eph 6:10-11 “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” You need the power of the Holy Ghost and all other offensive and defensive weapons for total victory. In all things God will teach us how to fight in Jesus name.

CONCLUSION: Only those who overcome in this world will make heaven, so you must face the challenges and warfare squarely and obtain victories by the weapons listed above, remember Christ said “To him that overcommeth will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcome, and am sed down with my Father in his throne”. Rev. 3:21

A Call not to Compromise

And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. Luke 9:62

One of the shortest and powerful message of Jesus Christ is Luke chapter 17:32 which states “REMEMBER LOT’S WIFE”. The story is written in Gen 19:26. The Lord commanded Lot and his wife and two daughters to depart from Sodom and Gomorrah. They were privileged because an angel of God held their hands to lead them out, but the command was “don’t look back”. Unfortunately, Lot’s wife looked back and she became a pillar of salt. Every Christian who looks back that is goes back to his old ways, sins, etc is regarded to have looked back, that means such a Christian has gone back to his vomit. Who is that person that will vomit and like to eat it again? I have never seen anyone except dog. In 2Peter 2:20-22 it is written “For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.” This is regarded as backsliding, looking back and compromising. It is not a news that every believer or Christian is still living in this world of corruption, temptation and daily invitation and exposure to sin. It is therefore necessary to know what to do to stand firm, steadfast, unmoveable, unyielding so that we can enter the kingdom of God which Christ has gone to prepare for us.

The devil with all his devices (social media, entertainment, pleasure, worldliness, magic, fashion, music, dressing, technology facilities) is pulling us on one side, to his side and God on the other side through his available resources (the bible, Holy Spirit, Pastors, preachers, miracles, revelations) is pulling us to his side, so man is the centre of the struggle and battle between God and Satan, Light and darkness, Good and bad, which side will you go? To be on God’s side then you must not COMPROMISE (means don’t accept satanic offers in place of God). The following will help you to remain steadfast and don’t become another Lot’s wife.

  1. DAILY BIBLE STUDY AND PRACTICE. Joshua 1:8 “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” Psalm 119:9-11, 105, 150, Acts 17:11. It is not enough to carry the Bible about, please read it, study it, meditate on it, practice it, preach it and store it in your heart. By so doing you will not compromise nor look back.
  2. DAILY SPIRITUAL CHECK-UP. 1Cor 11:28; 2Cor 13:5; Lamentation 3:40. Daily spiritual check-up is a process of sincere evaluation, examination and self stock taking to check if we are still in God’s will or we are declining. Failure to carry out daily spiritual checkup leads to complacency. The way sin corrupt us is through daily corrosion. The solution is daily examination so as to cleanse ourselves. We brush and bathe daily to remove dirt which lead to bad odour in the mouth and body and eventually sickness. The same is true of our spiritual life, it needs daily checkup for cleanser because we are in a world that is fully loaded with sins and all agents of sins being used by the devil.
  3. DAILY QUITE TIME. Mark 1:35, “And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.”  Gen 24:63 “And Isaac went out to meditate in the field at the eventide: and he lifted up his eyes, and saw, and, behold, the camels were coming.” Our Lord Jesus had quite time everyday; we saw example of Isaac also. Our quite time is our personal devotion time, a time alone with God. We must praise, worship, speak in tongues, read the Bible, pray, (supplication and intercession) and commit our daily, monthly and yearly activities unto Him. During this period God will speak to us as it pleases Him. I always enjoy this as a means of spiritual check-up and restoration in my life. Don’t forget Isaiah 40:31 “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

This is my secret as a Christian.

  1. DAILY PREACHING THE WORD. Mark 16:15-17, Luke 9:23 “And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.” Acts 10:38 “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.” You must confess, proclaim your faith and testify about Jesus everyday. In fact, you must tell somebody about God daily, about Jesus daily, about the Holy Spirit daily, about your pastor daily, about your church programmes daily. If you practice this, you will have no time to gossip and commit sin, you are occupied for the Lord. Please, don’t neglect soul winning because other religions are not joking with this but most Christians are no more soul winners but selfish lookers. If you don’t win your world your world will win you, if you don’t win a soul, your soul will be won by somebody or something.
  2. DAILY FELLOWSHIP WITH BRETHREN. Heb 10:25 “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” This is a perilous time when men shall be lovers of pleasure than God. Many churches in Europe are becoming empty. This should not be so. We must encourage one another, pray for one another, fellowship together, stand by one another by so doing, we can do great exploits and become overcomers in all facets of human endeavour.

Don’t forget that one will chase a thousand but two ten thousands. Imagine the ratio of what one can do and what ten will do. We are called unto fellowship with God and with one another. Therefore, don’t forsake the assembly of brethren, the saints if you must remain steadfast to inherit our heavenly father’s kingdom. Daniel and his companion Meshach, Shedrack and Abednego were able to change the decree of death issued by the king in Babylon because of their fellowship with God and one another. Daniel 2:17-19.

Nowadays, work has turned many Christians to Sunday worshipers, many parents are now absentee fathers and mothers. It is not right, make sure you attend mid-week services, your absenteeism because of work is end time satanic agenda, God will help us.

MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE: I have discovered that what I have written here is the only antidote to COMPROMISE. Also these principles are becoming increasingly difficult for Christians due to global economic recession, civilisation, modernisation, philosophy of men, materialism, immoralities, financial hardship and societal expectations.

Consequentially, it takes personal/self determination, heavenly determination and total dedication to please God and displease self and people to do them. Please, Christ is coming very soon, don’t compromise your Christian faith or look back, be like Daniel in Babylon, Joseph in Egypt, Paul in new testament and host of other disciples who died for their faith in Christ. It is a very hard time to be a Christian but His GRACE is SUFFICIENT FOR US.

Be rapture ready.

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Mark 11:23, Matthew 21:21

Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. Mark 11:24, Matt 21:22

The topic before us is Mountain Moving Prayers ie the kinds of prayer that can move away or remove our battles and problems. The unparallel weapon of a real Christian is prayer. This topic is coming at this period of the year because of the revelation received concerning the remaining half of the year; it is revealed that only the prayerful will survive the battles and possess the blessings which are reserved for the last half of this year.

Therefore, fasten your seat belt as we travel to explore and possess the secret of the mountain moving prayers.

  1. WHAT IS PRAYER? Prayer can simply be defined as the communion and communication between God and human being. It is a communion because it involves a fellowship, relationship and worship. If any of these three is missing is no longer a mountain moving prayer. Are you one of His own sheep? Do you know Him on personal level? Are you having fellowship with Him which means there is a relationship and that brings worship?

Secondly, it is a communication because it involves a hearer and a speaker, whose role can be switched in the course of the communication. Do you know, hear and speak the language God understands? One factor in communication is mutual intelligibility. That is the hearer and speaker understands each other without any barrier. The language of God is basically four:

(a) The language of the heaven or spiritual language which the Holy Spirit gives at baptism of the Holy Ghost.

(b) The language of the Bible or the Word of God which the Holy Spirit inspired in the time past. This you must study daily to know.

( c) The non-verbal language which is sign language which must be understood by daily fellowship in the Holy Spirit with God.

(d) The rhema language. This is the word which is received concerning a matter per time. This also include the word of faith and prophecy.

Do you operate in these ways of communication with God? If not take these steps before you learn the mountain moving prayers.

It is a fact that if you don’t know someone number you cannot call him/her. Also, if you don’t have a relationship with someone, your communication will not be smooth. These are the steps:

  1. Salvation – You must be born-again not church attendee. That you go to church, or have a position or work in church is not the same as salvation. Jesus said in John 10:14 “14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.” Confess your sins, ask for forgiveness and accept Jesus  into your life as your Lord and saviour and sin no more.
  2. Sanctification: Means to make holy, or conducive to spiritual blessing.

Are you holy? Is your life conducive for spiritual blessing?  It is written “Follow peace with all men, and HOLINESS WITHOUT WHICH NO MAN SHALL SEE THE LORD”. (Heb 12:14)

iii. Spiritous: Be Holy Ghost lead or spirit filled. It takes a man or woman who has left flesh and carnality to relate with God. In John 4:24 Jesus said God is a spirit and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and truth.

  2. Name of Jesus prayer. The mountain moving prayers must be offered in the name of Jesus because it is written “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Phil 2:9-11). In Acts 3:6-8 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.

Always pray in the name of Jesus and not in any dead, angel or persons name.

  1. Holy people prayer. It is written “Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.” (John 9:31). Please, don’t be deceived, prayer in the name of Jesus without holiness is shouting in vain. Remember the seven sons of Sceva who did that, they were destroyed by evil spirits. Please read Acts 19:13-17. Be sure you are saved and holy.
  2. Spirit lead prayer. It is written as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God (Rom 8:14). In Ezekiel 37:1-10, Prophet Ezekiel was led to pray concerning dry bones and he did and the dry bones became living beings. You can only move the mountain if you pray in line with God’s will. In 1John 5:14-15 it is written “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:  And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.”
  3. Faith full prayer – Without faith it is impossible to receive our expectations in prayer. In Mark 11:22-23. “And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.”
  4. Powerful prayer (fervent prayer). The prayer you pray with all your body, soul and spirit moving and your voice raised unto heaven. Elijah demonstrated this twice in his ministry in 1Kings 18:38-46. “37 Hear me, O Lord, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the Lord God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again. 38 Then the fire of the Lord fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench. 42…And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees.” James 5:17-18 recorded the prayer in these verses “…he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.”

Our Lord Jesus Christ prayed, read this Luke 22:44 “And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly; and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground”. Your lazy body and lackadaisical prayer attitude and style cannot move mountains. Please change now. Jesus prayed sweat came out of his body.

  1. Persistent prayer: A prayer that is constant, consistent and continuous until answer comes. The man at the pool of Bethesda was there for thirty-eight years (38). The woman in Luke 18:1-7 According to Jesus had answer to prayers because she was persistent. Luke 18:3-5, 7

“And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;  Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. Jesus said shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?” If you don’t give up in prayer, your battle will give up in the place of prayer.

  1. Anointed people prayers. There are some mountains your own effort and prayer cannot handle. You need the prayer of the anointed ministers. In Isaiah 10:27 it is written “And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the ANOINTING.” A certain man brought his son to the disciples of Jesus and they could not deliver him and Jesus rebuked the devil and he departed out of him and the child was cured from that very hour. (Mtt 17:14-18)
  2. Prayer offered with fasting. As a follow-up to anointing, Jesus said “Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.” (Mtt 17:21) Prayer that moves mountain at times needs fasting. The Bible recommended prayer and fasting. It is a great weapon to move your mountains. Let there be prayer rain for miracle rain.

Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. 1 John 3:2-3

Rapture is solely a christian belief, it means the second coming of Jesus Christ to earth, believers who have died will be raised and believers who are still alive and remain shall be caught up together with them (the resurrected dead believers) in the clouds to meet with Jesus Christ. (I Thes 4:13-17).

The word rapture does not occur in the Bible. The term comes from a latin word meaning “a carrying off, a transport or a snatching away”.

The belief in rapture makes christianity a way of life and not a religion. The topic before us is Be Rapture Ready: what does it require?

To be rapture ready you must be practicing the following Christ ethics:

  1. PURITY: This means holy without any contamination. In the 1John3:3, it is written  “And every man that hath this hope (rapture) in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.” You cannot be too holy but you can be unrighteous. Those that will be raptured are those described in Eph 5:27 “That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.”

This captures the church/christians that Jesus Christ at rapture will take away; the pure; without spot, wrinkle, blemish and any such thing that is called sin. Please, don’t be deceived without holiness, purity no man shall see the Lord. It is not enough to be born again – salvation only puts you on the track to run the race of heaven only PURITY/HOLINESS will guarantee your admission into heaven through the rapture. Have you read Heb. 12:14 “…without holiness no man shall see the Lord”. Purity means holiness which means God’s kind of character. To be holy is to stop sin totally and become totally a child of God in the secret and in the open. Purity makes you rapture ready.

  1. PREACHING: This is public declaration of whom Jesus is to the world of sin that they may become children of God. If you refuse to preach the gospel two things will be the consequences: (1) the delay of the rapture (2) the likelihood of missing heaven for disobeying the commandment to preach the gospel. Brethren, to be rapture ready is to continue to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ daily and this will hasten his coming and our eligibility at his coming. In Matthew 24:12-14, it is written “But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.” When last did you win a soul? When last did you preach the gospel to a soul? When last did you bring a person to the church or to Jesus? If we fail to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, the devil’s disciples will win the world and we shall be most affected. The last commandment is “go and preach the gospel to all creations” Disobedience to this great commission is a sin. Repent now and start preaching (Mark 16:15).
  2. PRAYING: Our prayer must be in threefold, to be rapture ready, firstly, for ourselves to make us ready, steady and worthy for rapture, secondly to pray for others to be turned, won and saved by Jesus Christ; thirdly, to pray that Jesus should come now and take us to himself as he promised in John 14:1-2 “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.” We saw two people in the Bible who did the same. In Luke 2:25-26, 36-38 “And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him. And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord’s Christ; And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity; And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day. And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.” At this time the duo prayed for the birth and coming of the messiah and God granted them answer to their prayers. You must start praying consciously for yourself, the people and rapture to come now, or else you might miss it. When did you pray last for rapture? Are you not among those who pray only for the present world blessings – wife, husband, children, cars, money, houses etc. Have you forgotten the Bible that “Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither; the Lord gave and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD” (Job 1:21).
  3. PREOCCUPYING: This word means to absorb or engross to the exclusion of other things. If something is PREOCCUPYING you, you are thinking about it a lot. To be rapture ready, we must be preoccupied with the thought and all it takes to make it. In Matt 6:21 Jesus said “where your treasure is, there will your heart be also”. Luke 19:13 Jesus said to them, “…Occupy till I come”. What are you preoccupied with. To be rapture ready you must be preoccupied with these: God’s service, daily bible studying and doing, daily prayer, daily evangelism, daily spiritual checkup, daily thought and preparation for heaven and daily expectation of his SECOND coming. Amos 4:17 “…prepare to meet thy God, O Israel.” What shall it profit a man if he gained all the things of this world and lose his soul? Note  ALL things here are vanity. “But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all other things shall be added unto you” (Matt 6:33).
  4. PATIENCE: Is the quality to be patient. Patient means physically able to suffer or bear. To be rapture ready you must bear or endure all afflictions, also in times of trouble or problem stay with God, the only one who has total godly solution and don’t run to herbalist and false prophets and seek satanic ungodly help. Hear the godly counsel in Heb 12:1-2 “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” That afflicting situation you see now you will see no more. Just be patient and hold on to God. You will sing a new song of joy at last.

CONCLUSION: All the signs for Jesus second coming are seen all over the world; wars, fake prophets, fake miracles, worldliness, technology, lukewarmness, global network etc. Therefore, be rapture ready. By His grace and mercy, we shall make it. Amen.
